‘Mercury’ clock resting on a rectangular base decorated with cornucopias and flowers. White enamelled dial with Roman numerals and a chiselled bronze plate. The movement is set within a rectangular frame adorned with a cornucopia, flowers and two doves, surmounted by a gilded bronze figure depicting Mercury holding a caduceus and a purse. Several bronze elements adorn the lower section (a knapsack, a paddle, an inkwell and a barrel). These attributes are associated with Mercury, the god of travellers and wanderers.
