case. Given that, in the age of GPS, hardly anyone knows how to use a sextant any more, it’s interesting to see the success of our latest addition. It must be down to its handy size and its many intricate details. Unchanged since the days of Captain Cook, it was still in use by the navigation officers on Pan Am’s Transpacific flights. Never mind the satellites – it was far more fun.Now, it sits safely in its rosewood box, with its brass fittings and transparent lid. This one has nothing to hide!
