Model of the British three-masted square-rigged ship “HMS ENDEAVOUR” or “HM Bark Endeavour”.
Originally designed to carry coal, it was purchased and converted in 1768 by the Royal Navy to explore the Southern Seas and the legendary Terra Australis. It was used by James Cook, a lieutenant in the Royal Navy, during his first expedition (1768–1771).
